Aaron Lewis was born in Vermont to a Jewish mother and a Catholic father of Italian, English and Welsh descent. His parents were living in a log cabin when Aron was born. When his parents split up, Aaron moved with his father to Longmeadow, Massachusetts, where he attended high school.

Aaron Lewis spent most of his childhood in Longmeadow where under the influence of his musician parents’ he listened to 60s folk artists like James Taylor and CSNY from an early age. However, it was the ’90s Seattle grunge scene that inspired him to create his unique tone, which is his trademark today.
Staind released their first album Tormented in 1996, and only a year later they could be seen performing in an opening slot for Limp Bizkit. But still, the band’s commercial breakthrough came after Outside, a live collaboration between Lewis and Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst during the 1999 Family Values Tour.
Aaron Lewis has also been performing solo acoustic shows since he was 17 and still does today. Thus, Aaron Lewis splits his time between long stints on the road and his Berkshire home.
