Callan McAuliffe Biography:
Callan was born in Clontarf, Sydney, Australia to Claudia Keech and author-journalist Roger McAuliffe, on 24 January 1995. He is of Irish-English-Jewish descent. His mother is also a journalist and founder of motherinc.com.au, an online magazine for modern mothers.
She has also been honoured with the award of the Medal of the Order of Australia. Also, Jacinta Jones (an Australian actress-producer-director) happens to be his cousin.
He attended an all-boys school. In school, he was part of the school choir as the lead singer. He was also a track athlete, till an injury which made him focus more on performing arts.
He studied musical theatre with The Trinity College of London (for which he topped the exams in 2008), and screen performance with The Sydney Theatre Company.
Along with being a talented actor, he is also a good singer. He also has proficiency in various musical instruments. He is also a good writer and released his first novel The Hill Ghost in 2018. In an interview, he said that he would have been a biologist and had a natural affliction to nature.

Callan began his acting career at the young age of 8, appearing in Comedy Inc., anAustralian comedy television series and Blue Water High, anAustralian drama television series.
By appearing in Flipped, he marked his American feature debut. He auditioned for the role while on a vacation in America. He was well-recognised for his role as Bryce in the movie.
In 2010, he was cast in the lead role in the science fiction film I Am Number Four, which was produced by Steven Spielberg and Michael Bay. In 2013, he starred in the film The Great Gatsby alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire. Leonardo starred as the lead Jay Gatsby, whose younger version was performed by Callan. The same year, he starred alongside Samuel L Jackson in a remake of the 1998 Japanese anime Kite.
Also, GQ magazine named him the youngest international winner of a “Man of the Year Award” in 2012.
In 2014. He won the Young Artists Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film – Supporting Young Actor for his role in The Great Gatsby.
From 2017 to 2022, Callan appeared as Alden in the hit TV series The Walking Dead for a total of 55 episodes.
