Jonathan Marc Bairstow was born on September 26, 1989, in Bradford, Yorkshire in England. Cricket runs clean in his family with his father, David Bairstow being a former England wicketkeeper-batsman back in the day.
Jonny is a right-handed batter who plays for his home side Yorkshire in the domestic league. He made his debut in the IPL with Sunrisers Hyderabad back in 2019 and has been a homely name to the franchise ever since.
The turning point in his career came in 2016 when he set a record for most dismissals by a wicket-keeper in a calendar year.
He also set a new record for most runs in test matches by a wicket-keeper in the same year by scoring 1470 runs in test matches. He began to capture the attention of selectors post this incident.
